Biography
I have degrees in Agricultural Science and Plant and Soil Science from the Universities of Edinburgh and Aberdeen in Scotland, respectively. After completing post-doctoral project in the UK, I moved the USA for 12 years, working first at Tufts University New England Medical Centre and then at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. My research interests centre on understanding the biology, disease mechanisms and transmission of several common food- and water-borne bacterial pathogens and I use a combination of molecular and genetic techniques to investigate these different aspects. In 2012, I joined the 天美传媒 as a Lecturer in Microbial Pathogenesis, becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2018.
