I like the fact the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ allows you to have a 50/50 split between your two languages choices,  as that was something other universities didn’t offer. I also like that students are given a choice of subject for written assignments.

We have access to a huge range of books and materials, computers with specialised software for language learners, and staff on hand during the weekdays to provide support. The classrooms also boast features to support listening practice.

I was attracted to some of the most unusual parts of music where there were no strict Western Classical limits, and experimentation was celebrated. This is where ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ stood out from other universities – the possibilities felt so limitless

For my professional training placement, I went to London to work with the National Youth Orchestra (NYO) and am now with Guildford Jazz working as a student ambassador.

My placement experience was great overall: it taught me plenty and helped me make some really good professional connections. I was given a lot more responsibility than I expected as a placement student.

I do enjoy the salary, but the best part is definitely the people I’ve met – everyone has been so pleasant, welcoming and helpful.

I like how there is such a broad variety of modules that can link with other disciplines such as sociology, criminology and politics.

Life as a student is very different to working 9-5 and I’ve appreciated the challenge of this change so far. I’ve learned to prioritise a work-life balance and value my free time, and it’s allowed me to differentiate between mindsets and strengthen my wellbeing.

I’m delighted to have secured a role with Leonardo as a Graduate Project Manager. My placement experience was invaluable in my job search – particularly in preparing for interview and developing my CV and cover letter.
