We've had many guest speakers from the industry come in to give us an insight into their daily routines and real examples of some of the cases they've dealt with which is very engaging. I find this to be a great way to consolidate my understanding by applying theoretical concepts to real life examples. 

I have enjoyed how each year builds on the last, shifting from learning the foundational core principles of biomedical science to applying them to disease and to research happening here at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.

The course gives you a bit of everything a crime enthusiast would love. My favourite module so far was the forensics module in first year, where we learnt all about the inner workings of forensics at a crime scene. The best part was that we actually got to go around 'pre-made' crime scenes and document them in full PPE. 

The best thing to happen to me on this course was my study exchange year in Australia. I got the opportunity to go to Monash University in Melbourne.

On my placement at the House of Lords, each day is unique. With connections to such a range of sectors, the opportunities feel limitless.

I completed a placement year at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, where I worked in the medical biochemistry and biophysics department. I'm so glad I was able to take this opportunity as it has made me more interested in a career in research.

The lecturers here know their respective fields phenomenally well and are as passionate as me when I question the ideas of their fields which is really encouraging when I don't quite understand something.

Biochemistry at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is a dynamic fusion of research and real life. I got to intern with Klinefelter's Syndrome Association over the summer, which developed my skills and gave me valuable experience in science communications.
